This
simple house is on the corner of a row that is several hundred years old in the
12th Century area of the town on a no through road. The
old traditional wooden double doors (that can open right out to let the cart and
donkey in!) open into the sitting room with fire, arm chairs and sofa. The cool
terracotta floor leads through an arch to the dining room with "van Gough"
chairs (see right) and table for four, see below.

On the roof terrace (above) you have a clear view of the sun going down behind
the mountains, sometimes delighting you with a sunset of pure vermilion. The terrace
is secluded as the house is at the top of the street and is not overlooked.
The kitchen
area is off the dining room and has a bottle gas cooker, fridge and cooking utensils,
including garlic crusher and paella pans. Next to the kitchen is the tiled shower
room with sink and toilet. You can drink the water, but use it sparingly! Try
not to leave taps running or have really long showers.
The
partly original stone stairs lead from the dining room to the first bedroom with
twin beds, wooden shuttered window looking over the old town and door to the lower
terrace.
The second bedroom with double bed has a magnificent view over
the mountains and town, you can lie in bed and soak up the view.
The
lower terrace has a clothes line and stairs to the top terrace which has almost
360 degree views over the mountains, rooftops, orange groves, the old town, El
Cids derelict castle and the sea in the distance. We have breakfast there, a wonderful
way to start the day.
